Reading visit means Van Persie to aid Fantasy Football players again

Published:

Robin van Persie has become a major frustration to Fantasy Football managers in the past month with just a single goal in his last nine appearances for Manchester United, but the visit of Reading to Old Trafford gives him a major chance to rediscover the scoring trail.

Van Persie was on target against Reading earlier in the season and with the visitors having lost four on the bounce in the Premier League, their confidence is not at its highest.

The Dutchman is the 12/1 favourite to register the most points in gameweek 30 and no team has conceded more Premier League goals than manager-less Reading this season.

While Van Persie has been struggling for goals, at the opposite end of the spectrum has been Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale.

Bale has not scored in his last three clashes with Fulham, but has scored three goals in two London derbies in the past month.

He is 12/1 to score the most points and his weakest total across the last six gameweeks is a very high eight points.

Meanwhile, Suarez has seven goals in his last four games in all competitions for Liverpool, but he heads to St Marys to take on a Southampton side that have conceded no more than once in their last nine home Premier League fixtures.

Therefore, he may be best opposed at 16/1.

However, the underdogs have been contributing the big scores in recent weeks, with Maynor Figueroa, Shinji Kagawa and Andros Townsend the last three top scorers.

Looking at form tables, no team has conceded more goals in their last six away games than Norwich.

It is Sunderland that host Norwich next and Steven Fletcher got back on the goal trail at QPR last time.

Fletcher is 25/1 to be the gameweek 30 top points scorer.
