Evergreen Giggs value to continue scoring streak next season

Published:

In an incredible 22nd year as a first-team player at Manchester United, 39-year-old Ryan Giggs has done enough to earn himself a one-year contract extension.

And after scoring a Premier League goal for the 20th season running, Ladbrokes offer betting opportunities on how many the midfield maestro will notch next term.

Giggs remains the only player to have found the net in every Premier League campaign, and he is 8/11 to score less than 2.5 goals next season, as he has the past two full seasons.

He has hit two league goals so far this season too, both coming in recent weeks, and it seems plausible that he could exceed the 2.5 goal mark prior to the season’s end.

Therefore, with his future secured, Giggs could prove a shrewd bet to hit at least 2.5 goals during the 2013/2014 Premier League season at 1/1.

Formerly a flying winger, it is a testament to Giggs’ class how seamlessly he has transitioned into a central midfield role, and though the adaptation has reduced the quantity of his scoring chances, he remains as deadly as ever in front of goal.

In 16 of the 19 full Premier League seasons he has participated in, the former Wales captain has struck more than 2.5 times, further cementing the notion that he could again smash the 2.5 goal barrier next term.

Whilst some could be deterred from this bet by the seemingly sporadic nature of Giggs’ appearances in recent times meanwhile, it should be noted that he has took part in 75 league games over the past three total seasons.

He registered over 2.5 goals across all competitions in those years, proving he maintains the capability to find the net with regularity, and will be eager to carry that sort of goalscoring form into another season at United.

If afforded the chance to play as often as he has done in recent years since reverting to a central midfield role, Giggs looks superb value at 1/1 to bulge the Premier League net more than 2.5 times next season.
