Ten unforgivable football fashion faux pas that will make you cringe

Published:

London Fashion Week starts this Friday and there are bound to be all manner of weird and wonderful outfits on show from the leading labels.

With more money than sense, footballers are usually decked out head to toe in designer clobber, some of it tasteful, some of it outlandishly garish.

When the most high-profile players and managers get it wrong in the fashion stakes, they tend to do it in spectacular style – and usually end up taking up plenty of column inches in tabloid newspapers.

The Ladbrokes fashion police named and shamed the eight worst shirts in Premier League history back in August – and are back to highlight 10 unforgivable fashion clangers from some of the most prominent people in the beautiful game.

Warning: Some of the following images may hurt your eyes…

Cristiano Ronaldo – Who wears short shorts, Cris?

Djibril Cisse – Shades of John Travolta here in Saturday Night Fever.

Oliver Kahn – Fresh from raiding the Status Quo wardrobe.

Carlos Tevez – Moonlighting as an Enrique Iglesias look-a-like.

Rio Ferdinand – If you’ve got it…flaunt it!

Oliver Kahn – AGAIN!

Mark Lawrenson – Don’t adjust your TV screens, his shirts really are this bad.

Frank Lampard – Pretty in pink.

Sir Alex Ferguson – Spare any change, Sir?

David Beckham – Pee-wee Herman would be proud of this bow tie…and haircut.
