Six NFL videos that’ll blow your mind

Sunday night’s Super Bowl will be a family affair between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers – and we’ve got six amazing NFL videos to get you in the mood for one of the highlights of the sporting year.

Brotherly love will be put to one side in New Orleans as Jim and John Harbaugh take charge of the 4/7 favourites the 49ers and Ravens respectively in what the media are dubbing ‘HarBowl’.

It’s not the first time that the Harbaugh brothers have faced each other in the NFL. Rewind to Thanksgiving in 2011 and John’s Ravens clinched a 16-6 victory over the 49ers.

History will be made in Sunday’s rematch at the Superdome as two brothers contest the Super Bowl for the first time as coaches.

Our NFL expert James Middleton is tipping the Ravens to run out of steam after a remarkable season that has coincided with the final chapter in the illustrious 17-year career of the side’s  iconic inside linebacker Ray Lewis.

It would be a fairytale finish if Lewis won a Super Bowl ring.

Between now and Sunday, though, there will be plenty of pre-match hype around Lewis and the Harbaugh brothers and we’ve compiled a list of awesome NFL videos that are well worth checking out.

The ingenious people behind Bad Lip-Reading have produced hilarious videos on a range of different subjects – from the Hunger Games to Beyoncé’s rendition of the American national anthem at President Obama’s recent inauguration.

With over 26 million views, this NFL skit featuring an alternative version of what the players, coaches and officials say on the pitch is brilliantly funny.

The NFL Fantasy Files feature players showboating and generally showing off some truly jaw-dropping tricks to try and persuade viewers to pick them in fantasy football.

These first surfaced a few years back, but they still make great viewing now. There’s plenty of debate over whether they’re real or fake? Who cares!

Havard Rugland – remember the name. Rugland hit the headlines in December of last year when a YouTube video of his kicking prowess – including being able to accurately kick to a man in a boat on a lake – earned him a trial with the New York Jets.

Whether or not he’ll be appearing in the NFL any time soon, the Norwegian has become an internet sensation.

Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has excellent hand/eye coordination and put his skills to good use when he helped the New York Giants to win last year’s Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.

Nicks is also a dab hand at magic as well it seems, judging by this card trick.

Part of the appeal of American football is the razzmatazz that surrounds it – especially over-the-top touchdown celebrations.

This particular compilation, accompanied by Wham’s Make Me Up Before You Go-Go, is packed with a few cracking examples of extravagant end zone dances.

Every now and then a ‘Hollywood moment’ comes around in sport that makes you rub your eyes in amazement and wonder if what you’ve just witnessed was real. Step forward Jerome Simpson, who scored arguably one of the best touchdowns of this season in December.

It’s like something straight from a computer game when you learn the cheat buttons.
