Samia on course for skate-off after Dancing on Ice Team Challenge

Published:

Samia Ghadie has reached the last six on Dancing On Ice without being in a skate-off thus far, but this could all be set to change after Team Challenge week.

Alongside completing their normal routines, the final six have been split into two teams that will complete a routine against each other.

The team deemed to be the winner by the judges will then have their points doubled, effectively giving them a better chance of survival into the final five because of their superior points.

Samia looks to be in the weaker team with Beth Tweddle and Keith Chegwin and it is hard not to see the all-male team of Matt Lapinskas, Gareth Thomas and Luke Campbell benefiting from double points.

The dance routines have been named, with Samia’s team performing to Gangnam Style, while the boys will strut their stuff to You Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer.

With Beth odds-on at 5/6 to win the show, she should have little trouble avoiding the skate-off, making a showdown between Keith and Samia the most likely occurrence.

Therefore, with Samia at 7/4 to feature in the skate-off, this price looks enticing.

There is also the thought that she is the weakest dancer remaining in the competition, especially when having to complete steps on her own rather than with the support of partner Sylvain Longchambon

Meanwhile, in the last two Team Challenges in previous series’, the celebrity to leave was one that had previously propped up the leaderboard, but never in a skate-off.

This is a bad omen for Samia and she is a fair price to be eliminated at 7/2.

Keith has already survived three skate-offs and he looks to be skating on thin ice in terms of remaining in the competition.

It is no surprise that he is the favourite to be eliminated in week seven of the show at 6/5.
