PL Darts: Expect Wade wins with MVG & Power in amongst 180s

As the regular Premier League Darts season enters its final few weeks, there is still plenty to be decided, and betting opportunities galore for punters.

Not least of which are present in week-13 ties at Liverpool, where we’ve racked up an unorthodox accumulator that can reward backers at more than 12/1, should all selections prove correct.

Firstly, in the night’s opening match, we fancy Michael van Gerwen to notch more 180s than Andy Hamilton, a feat he is 4/7 to accomplish.

A 1/3 shot to simply win the bout, ‘Mighty Mike’ leads the Premier League standings on 20 points, and needs only one more victory to be certain of a play-off spot.

He should achieve it here, whilst vastly increasing his league-best tally of 51 maximums thus far.

And we favour second-place Phil Taylor in the same market as Van Gerwen, advising investment in his 8/5 price to rack up more 180s than Scottish counterpart Robert Thornton at the Echo Arena.

Despite enjoying heavy 4/9 favouritism to emerge triumphant from the match, the Power is available at hefty odds to outscore the Thorn in terms of maximums, in light of the Scotsman’s 46 tournament 180s so far this year.

Taylor currently has 29 180s to his name, but has reached the 50-plus maximums mark in four previous Premier League campaigns, and at such lofty odds, must be backed to reverse form with Thornton here.

Finally, we fancy James Wade to enjoy a fruitful night on Merseyside, by landing a double triumph over Simon Whitlock and Andy Hamilton respectively.

The Machine meets Whitlock first, in the knowledge that he can all but end the Wizard’s play-off qualification hopes with victory.

Each player enters the clash in good form, with Wade prevailing in four of his last six Premier League encounters, and Whitlock losing only one of his last four matches.

But confidence must lie in 11/10 shot Wade, with repetition of his staunchly consistent darts over the past few weeks surely enough to see him past his unpredictable opponent.

And to close proceedings, the Machine is taken at 8/15 to overcome Andy Hamilton, who has faded in recent weeks after an impressive campaign start.

The Hammer enters this match on the back of three consecutive defeats, having lost four of his last five, and with nothing left to play for, should offer little in the way of resistance to play-off chasing Wade.
