Bale could upset Liverpool brigade in Fantasy Football betting

Published:

With two home fixtures, it is no surprise to see Liverpool players dominating the betting to accrue the most points in Fantasy Football gameweek 26, but there could be some value in backing Gareth Bale to scoop the accolade at 20/1.

Luis Suarez understandably tops the market, but looks on the short side at 4/1, even if he has scored seven times in the last eight gameweeks and racked up 33 points across Liverpool’s last three home fixtures.

A continuation of this average from the showdowns with West Brom and Swansea will see him take 22 points in this gameweek, that will be nigh on impossible to better.

Strike partner Daniel Sturridge is a possible alternative at 8/1, but there are doubts about his fitness after he was forced to withdraw from the England squad for the friendly with Brazil.

Swansea are the other team that have two fixtures, with a home clash against an exceedingly tight QPR coming ahead of their trip to Anfield.

It is hard to expect too many Swans goals from these fixtures, so Michu looks one to oppose to be top points scorer in gameweek 26 at 10/1.

With Liverpool’s big guns all prominent in the betting, there may be some value in the market elsewhere if, for whatever reason, Brendan Rodgers’ team struggle for goals.

With Jermain Defoe injured and Emmanuel Adebayor not guaranteed to be in peak condition after his exploits at the African Cup of Nations, there is speculation that Bale may spearhead the Tottenham attack at home to Newcastle.

Newcastle are clearly shaky at the back after conceding 18 times in their last seven Premier League games and Bale has netted in each of his last two for Spurs, while collecting bonus points in each fixture.

Chelsea are the other team who could have a productive week at home to Wigan, with Fernando Torres 33/1 to top the points charts and the in-form Juan Mata 18/1.
