Wigan to avoid banana skin and pilot 37/1 FA Cup accumulator

Published:

Many punters will believe that Wigan’s FA Cup charge for this season is in jeopardy at Bournemouth, but we are tipping the Premier League team to spearhead our 37/1 accumualtor.

Looking at all of the third-round replays, most eyes will be on Dean Court for the big upset, with Bournemouth more than holding their own at Wigan in the initial encounter.

Furthermore, Wigan have gone out in the third round in six of the last 10 seasons and Bournemouth are unbeaten in 18 games.

However, Roberto Martinez is likely to name a slightly strong team this time and the inclusion of Manchester United loanee Angelo Henriquez could make all of the difference.

Speaking of Man Utd, they should have little trouble winning their own replay against dreadful-travellers West Ham.

The Hammers have only managed five away goals in the Premier League and with a vital home game against QPR next in the top flight, Sam Allardyce may rest some of his bigger guns with that in mind.

Two Championship clubs can also progress, with one guaranteed from the meeting between Birmingham and Leeds.

Preference is for the home side, given that Leeds have lost all of their last four on the road.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday’s away form has been much improved as they are unbeaten in four, which includes victories at Bolton and Hull.

They travel to League One MK Dons for their replay, who have not won in their last three on their own patch to hinder their chase of an automatic promotion spot.

Another club in this fight are Brentford, but they should have an easier time at home to League Two Southend.

Brentford are also unbeaten at home since the opening day of the season.

FA Cup selections
Man Utd to beat West Ham @ 3/10
Brentford to beat Southend @ 8/11
Wigan to beat Bournemouth @ 11/8
Birmingham to beat Leeds @ 7/5
Sheffield Wednesday to beat MK Dons @ 19/10
