Rylan well backed for CBB, but history suggests he will be beaten

Rylan Clark has been easily the most backed contestant to win the 11th series of Celebrity Big Brother, but the past records of former X Factor acts appearing in the show does not make good reading that he will triumph.

Ladbrokes already face a total payout of over £15,000 should Rylan be the last z-lister standing and he is clear favourite now at 5/2.

However, in the three years since the show moved from Channel Four to Five, two have seen former X Factor contestants as the favourites on the opening night, but neither have won.

Jedward opened series eight as the 11/4 favourites, but support throughout the series came for Kerry Katona and Paddy Doherty, with the My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding Star eventually securing victory.

Then in series nine, Frankie Cocozza started as the 4/1 joint favourite with Denise Welch, with the Loose Women panellist coming out on top when these were the last two.

This does suggest that Rylan is a shoo-in to reach the final, but may be susceptible to a late punter plunge on a fellow contestant.

Following Rylan in the Celebrity Big Brother betting at present are both Ryan Moloney, who is better known for playing Toadfish in Neighbours for closing in on two decades, and jockey Frankie Dettori.

Both can be backed at 5/1.

Of the remainder, Page 3 hit Lacey Banghard could generate some betting interest at 12/1 if making a positive first impression.
