Man Utd and Hull in our 12/1 play-it-safe FA Cup accumulator

Published:

Home advantage is often seen as a major benefit in cup competitions and we are putting this theory to the test with our fourth round FA Cup accumulator.

Four of our five selections are playing at home in the 12/1 accumulator, with the one rogue selection being Manchester City to win to nil at Stoke.

This may seem a risky inclusion given that Man City are without a win at the Britannia since Stoke reached the Premier League, but Roberto Mancini’s men have begun to keep some clean sheets of late.

Read more on why Man City can win to nil in our outright match preview here.

From there on, it is home wins all the way with Manchester United our shortest-priced inclusions at home to Fulham.

The Red Devils have won ten on the bounce at home to Fulham in all competitions and Martin Jol’s men offered little at Man City on their last Premier League away day.

The huge gulfs in class are the leading reasons for selecting home wins for Norwich and Middlesbrough against Luton and Aldershot respectively.

Norwich beat Peterborough away in the last round and should have little trouble progressing again back on their own patch against opposition four tiers below them.

Middlesbrough have won five of their last six at the Riverside and rarely lose against lower-league opposition.

Our final pick are Hull as they face fellow Championship side Barnsley.

All of the last four meetings between this pair have been won by the team playing at home, including a 1-0 Hull success back in November.

Barnsley have only triumphed in one of their last eight on the road.

Man Utd to beat Fulham @ 2/7
Norwich to beat Luton @ 1/3
Middlesbrough to beat Aldershot @ 1/3
