Malmo v Swansea: Premier League side excellent away win value

Published:

Swansea’s first leg pounding of Malmo at the Liberty Stadium has all but booked their place in the final round of Europa League qualifiers. Their trip to Sweden now takes the shape of a pre-season kick-about, but they’re generously priced to claim the spoils regardless.

Michael Laudrup’s charges are an incredibly enticing proposition at 1/1, rendering the home side’s 13/5 and 5/2 for the draw pointless alternatives.

Malmo returned to winning ways in their previous outing, bettering Halmstad 3-1 to move to within two points of Allsvenskan leaders Helsingborgs, but they had prevailed in five of the six games prior to their trip to south Wales where they were comprehensively dispatched 4-0.

This emphasises the immense gulf in quality between England’s Capital One Cup winners and the bronze medallists from Sweden’s top tier, meaning that the visitor’s price for victory simply cannot be sniffed at.

Having conceded just one goal in their six friendlies and one competitive game they’ve played so far this term, those not satisfied with Swansea’s match-winning price can turn to the away win to nil market in search of some real wallet-swelling rewards.

A bounty of 23/10 can be snapped up for yet another Swans win coupled with a clean sheet. Should they achieve the feat, it’ll be the sixth match on the spin in which they’ve done it but, a word of caution, 12 games have come and gone since Malmo failed to register at the Swedbank Stadion.

Still, given the merciless, yet effortless, nature in which the Welsh club went about their business in the first leg, this bet is well worth taking on, as is backing 9/2-rated Wilfried Bony to open the scoring in Sweden.

He bagged a quickfire brace at the Liberty and, should he start, his excellent finishing ability coupled with the Swans’ ability to carve open defences, he looks excellent value to break the deadlock here.
