Euro Accumulator: Catania star in 20/1 shot fourfold

Published:

Football fans across the continent can rest at ease knowing that the winter hiatus has been put to bed for another year in most countries and, with the programme back in full flow, we’ve thrown together a 20/1 accumulator that relies on Italian minnows Catania upstaging the might of Roma for payout.

Catania to beat Roma @ 9/5

Rolando Maran has unquestionably got his charges playing beyond their means. He’s guided them to 10th in the Serie A standings heading into the New Year where they sit just six points behind their next opponents from the Italian capital.

They may not have won a game since way before Christmas but they have not allowed Roma to get the better of them in any of their previous four meetings.

The Giallorossi were thumped 4-1 at Napoli last time out and will not be looking forward to another away trip, especially without the services of suspended midfield maestro Miralem Pjanic, who saw red in Naples.

Juventus to beat Parma @ 4/5

Parma may be unbeaten on their own patch this season, where they have conceded the least number of goals in the whole of Serie A.

However, a price just a fraction shy of 1/1 for the team topping the division by five points, notching 20 goals on the road along the way, seems just too good to turn down.

The Old Lady have recorded victories in seven of their previous eight outings and, away from home, they have conceded more than one goal just once all season.

Lyon to beat Troyes @ 5/6

Not dissimilar to Juve, title-chasing Lyon are excellently priced to win this weekend, though their opponents are considerably weaker than Parma.

Having ended November by thumping Marseille on their own patch and were unfortunate to lose at Paris Saint-Germain in their previous away game, they’ve shown they’re more than capable of despatching a team that resides in the Ligue 1 relegation zone.

Troyes have won just once in their last 10 attempts in all competitions and have conceded six goals in their previous three at home, where they have developed penchant for being breached in the closing stages that Lyon are more than capable of taking advantage of.

Real Madrid (-1) to beat Osasuna @ 5/4

Los Merengues have been a far cry from their imperious best this term and have lost both of their previous away matches.

Their last seven games, home or away, however, have yielded an incredible 33 goals, 20 in their favour. This suggests they have what it takes to put at least two past bottom club Osasuna, who are the joint-lowest scorers in La Liga.

Theoretically, two goals is all they’ll need to overcome a one-goal handicap as it’s tough to see the hosts scoring, but having spanked this opposition to the tune of 12 goals in two meetings last season, Los Merengues will fancy their chances of bagging a few more than that.
