Cisse an amazing price to outscore Ba over rest of Premier League season

Chelsea have clearly completed a productive bit of business in gaining a £5m profit in transfer fees from selling Daniel Sturridge and bringing in Demba Ba as his replacement.

The last time Ba joined a Premier League team in mid-season, he netted seven times for West Ham despite not scoring his first until February.

Meanwhile, he also operated wide on occasions for the Hammers and there is little doubt that he will lead the line at Chelsea.

It is 6/4 that he nets 5-7 goals over the remainder of the Premier League season, with 6/1 the price that he registers less than five.

The favourite in this market is slightly surprisingly the 11/10 that he grabs between 8-11 goals.

Granted, the service offered to him now will be superior to Newcastle given the creative qualities of the likes of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar.

However, Rafa Benitez is predicted to continue with a lone striker, meaning that Ba will be competing with Fernando Torres for a starting berth.

This will obviously reduce his chances of goals, but 4/6 seems a fair price that he outscores Torres in a straight head-to-head over the remainder of the season, with the Spaniard priced at 13/8.

Looking at all of the Ba specials, it is the head-to head market with former Newcastle strike partner Papiss Cisse that seems the most appealing.

With both players starting from scratch now in terms of Premier League goals this season, Cisse is a massive 7/2 to outscore Ba.

Cisse came to life at this time in the last campaign and the Newcastle team are likely to return to lining up in the way that clearly played to his strengths last season.

Without Ba, it took him less than two minutes to score against Everton and he has two goals in his last three games.

Ba is 1/4 to outscore Cisse, but not knowing how he will settle in, this price looks far too short.
