World Darts Championship: Part pick of 16/1 treble
Published:The second round of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship is upon us and we’re bringing you yet another accumulator by means of celebration.
We had no luck in the first round but optimism remains as high as ever and we fancy this 16/1 treble will give backers another reason to be cheerful ahead of the festive period.
John Part to beat Terry Jenkins @ 5/4
Canadian slinger John Part steps up to the oche at an incredible price against one of the most uninspiring dartists on the PDC circuit.
Darth Maple is the more gifted of the two players and, although Terry Jenkins is a reliable player, he rarely performs above expectations against the better players.
The pair have met 17 times previously, though this will be the first at the Ally Pally. Part has nine victories compared to the Bull’s eight and expect him to be in double figures when all is said and done here.
Paul Nicholson to beat Robert Thornton @ 13/8
Robert Thornton has been one of the darting revelations of 2012 and his UK Open win was right out of left field. However, his World Championship run looks set to come to an early end when he takes on the much-maligned Paul Nicholson.
The Thorn would not be favourite for this clash any other year and a couple of good tournaments don’t change the fact that he’s not as good a player as Nicholson.
Both players cruised to 3-0 wins in the first round of the competition, though the Asset’s was the more impressive and expect him to follow it up with more of the same here.
Phil Taylor to beat Jerry Hendriks 4-1 @ 7/4
With Phil Taylor’s match betting price as microscopic as you’d anticipate, we’ve had to have a punt on the final score to make this bet worthwhile.
A plucky performance from Dutch youngster Jerry Hendriks is on the cards if his straight sets first round victory over Wayne Jones is anything to go by so we’ve given him a set for good measure but the Power will cruise.
The Power represents a monstrous step up in quality from Jones and even if Hot Dog puts up a fight, he’s not going to have enough to stop Taylor who is hungry to end his drought at the Ally Pally.
