Union J nailed on to be next act out of X Factor

Published:

Union J are big favourites to be the next act eliminated from the X Factor at 4/6 – but even at those short odds it’s still well worth lumping on the boyband to be booted out.

The four-piece have been hanging on by a thread for several weeks now and were only saved last week by virtue of the dire displays of Rylan who was voted out by a score of three to one.

Their performances on the night (whilst drawing praise from the judges who expertly eschew criticism in the final weeks) were fairly average and leaked information suggests that the only act who could possibly be voted out ahead of them is actually the public’s favourite.

Former cruise ship singer Chris Maloney is the 9/4 second favourite to be kicked out of the show this weekend but he has apparently been getting the most public votes of all the contestants each week so far.

So, even if Simon Cowell concocts some dastardly plan to bring back the judges vote for the bottom two acts, Chris looks like he’ll be safe as houses.

Meanwhile, James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas are currently priced at 8/1 and 10/1 respectively to be the ninth act voted off and those lengthy odds are indicative of how safe they are.

They both performed well last week (particularly James who impressed with a soulful rendition of Lets Get It On) and shouldn’t have any problem making it through to the final.

While the odds offered on Union J aren’t going to give you enough profit to retire on (unless you REALLY lump on) backing them to be kicked off the show this weekend should still yield a decent pay out.
