Man City favourites for FA Cup victory after Watford draw

Published:

Manchester City are the 5/1 favourites to win the FA Cup after being drawn against Championship side Watford in the third round.

The Premier League champions – who won the FA Cup in 2011 – host the Hornets at Eastlands where they haven’t lost in 90 minutes since Liverpool left with a 1-0 victory in January last year.

Meanwhile, Manchester United (13/2) have been given an all-Premier League tie against West Ham United in east London.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side haven’t won the FA Cup since 2004 but have been losing finalists on two occasions since then. A third round draw against an increasingly impressive West Ham (who are 50/1 to win the cup) won’t help their cause.

Meanwhile, defending champions Chelsea are also 13/2 and also have a top tier tie against Southampton. However, the south coast side shouldn’t provide too stern a test for the Blues, with the Saints drifting out to 66/1 to win their first FA Cup since 1976.

Finally, Liverpool (9/1) have been given what should be a straightforward tie against Lincoln City or Mansfield Town, while Arsenal (10/1) have a tough trip down the M4 to face a Swansea side who swept them aside comprehensively last Saturday.
