Late Khan stoppage looks all but guaranteed against Molina

It does not take a rocket scientist to uncover the best way to beat Amir Khan, but unbeaten Carlos Molina does not have the necessary tools to get the job done.

Khan does not have the strongest of chins and Danny Garcia proved last time that if the Brit can be encouraged into a tear-up, he can be stopped.

The problem for Molina is that all of his fights have been at lightweight and although he remains unbeaten, he has not stopped an opponent since early 2010.

He is, therefore, unlikely to have the power to slow down Khan here and the 1/8 price that the Brit begins his new partnership with Virgin Hunter by snapping his two-fight losing streak appears free money.

Khan’s clear problem is that he is too willing to attack and struggles to restrain himself from moving forward at every opportunity.

He has stated that this fight is the first where he will adopt a new strategy and the assumption is that he will be more patient and gradually grind down his opponent.

If Khan is to trial new things, it may take him a while to get the job done and so the 11/10 that he comes through in the second half of the fight looks the best bet on offer.

The key will be for Khan to remain at distance and work behind his jab, especially as few would argue that he has the fastest hands in the division.

However, if Khan does fall back into bad habits again, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he walks onto a dangerous punch.

Molina is 5/1 to triumph and the addition of Angel Garcia to his team for the fight looks a wise move.

Garcia was instrumental in riling Khan when he previously fought his son Danny and something similar could be achieved again.
