Unhappy Real midfielder Ozil once again on Man Utd’s radar

Manchester United’s apparent deficiencies in midfield could be coming to a spectacular end – if the latest rumours are to be believed.

Just a couple of days after Wesley Sneijder was rumoured to be unwilling to take a pay cut at Inter Milan – thus potentially opening the door for United to swoop – another former target is apparently becoming disillusioned with their current club.

According to the Sun, German midfielder Mesut Ozil is starting to get fed up of playing second fiddle to summer signing Luka Modric in the middle of the park and is considering his options.

The 24-year-old joined Real for £12 million two years ago but, after a couple of excellent seasons for the Spanish champions, it’s thought they would want double that if he was to move on.

It’s a pretty speculative rumour at the moment but there is no doubt that Sir Alex Ferguson – whose United side are currently XX to win the Premier League – rates the player and even tried to sign him before he made the move to Spain.

Meanwhile, as per usual with Manchester United, there are plenty of other rumours doing the rounds.

The Daily Mail reckon that United could be about to poach 16-year-old Chelsea starlet Conor Hunte. The midfielder has yet to sign a professional contract with the Blues which could allow United (or Liverpool who are also interested) to nab him.

Finally, while there is apparently at least some chance of those deals going through, one player who looks set to stay away from Old Trafford is 20-year-old Malaga midfielder Isco who is poised to sign a new long-term deal with the Spanish outfit.

Why does it feel like there’ll be quite a few more midfielders linked with Fergie’s men between now and the end of the season?
