Tottenham will win at least a half in trip to Arsenal

Given the shambles that is the Arsenal defence at present, many punters will feel Tottenham are the value call to win the North London derby at 13/5, especially given their 3-2 success at Old Trafford.

However, the more enticing bet at the Emirates may well prove the 11/10 that Tottenham win at least one of the two halves.

Spurs have been notorious fast starters when playing away this season, ahead at the interval in four of their five Premier League fixtures on the road.

This is in comparison to fading dramatically after the break, as they have also scored fewer than the opposition after half time in four of these five outings.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been solid in terms of winning at least one half with Arsenal in their most recent Premier League meetings, doing so four times in succession before the 5-2 reverse at the Emirates last season.

Even then they raced into a 2-0 lead, before Bacary Sagna and Robin Van Persie both scored in the final five minutes before half time to take the scores in level.

With Tottenham starting away days strongly, they may appeal at 11/4 just to claim a first-half lead, especially as Arsenal have not led at the break in seven Premier League games, since tonking Southampton 6-1.

Alternatively, with Spurs’ aforementioned tendency to fade late on, there could be some mileage in the 7/1 that Andre Villas-Boas’ team lead at half time but fail to collect the three points.

Punters wanting to take an even bigger risk may be tempted by the 20/1 that Arsene Wenger’s half-time team talk is particularly inspired with the Gunners recovering from falling behind at the break to be ahead by the final whistle.
