Federer and Del Potro a lucrative 6/4 double at ATP World Tour Finals

Published:

We are three from four with our predictions over the past two days of action at the ATP World Tour Finals and Roger Federer and Juan Martin del Potro can provide a rewarding double in the second round of games in Group B.

Both players are 4/7 to win their respective matches in straight sets and put together, punters can be paid out to the tune of 6/4.

Federer faces David Ferrer in the opening match with both players successful in their openers in London, enhancing their chances of progressing to the semi finals.

The pair have clashed 13 times before and Federer has simply owned Ferrer, winning every one of these past meetings.

What is especially notable though is that ten of these triumphs have come in straight sets and all five when they have faced off indoors.

Federer has also beaten Ferrer in the last two years in London and in neither meeting has more than 21 games been needed to secure victory.

Therefore, 5/6 could prove a decent price on under 21.5 games here, especially with Ferrer surely feeling the effects of a ridiculously busy three weeks.

The other Group B meeting obviously involves the losers of the opening games, meaning that a defeat for Del Potro or Janko Tipsarevic will almost certainly confirm their elimination.

Del Potro has held all of the aces previously, winning all three of their career meetings.

The Argentine has also never previously dropped a set to Tipsarevic and all three encounters have been on hard courts, the latest in the Davis Cup in Serbia, where there would have been numerous factors against him.

With Tipsarevic seemingly below par of late as end of season fatigue has shown signs of setting in, this could be a bit of a rout.

Under 19.5 games in the match especially stands out at 11/8, while Del Potro additionally appeals at 4/7 to serve the most aces.
