Michu at an excellent price to notch any time against Man City

Swansea have struggled on the road since they thrashed QPR on the opening day of the season, so Man City dishing out a hammering will be what many envisage ahead of this one, especially with the Citizens smarting after their Champions League disappointments.

The problems they encountered in Amsterdam, however, are deep-rooted, not a one-off, which gives the Swans hope of at least troubling the scorers ahead of their trip to the Etihad. Bearing in this mind, back Michu to score at any time to be paid out to the delightful tune of 5/1.

The Spaniard has proved to be one of the signings of the summer following his £2m move from Rayo Vallecano to south Wales, netting seven times in nine games. This form will ensure Michael Laudrup’s side cop a hefty profit when a bigger club comes calling but, in the mean time, his massive price to notch at the Etihad could see many punters make one this weekend.

He’s scored in all but three games this season and registered in both the away games in which his team have found the net. If the Swans are to bag at the home of the champions, Michu is the man they’ll look to.

The 26-year-old is a far superior player to Danny Graham who will lead the Swansea line and, operating just behind him, Michu moves into pockets of space where he can hurt teams, as well as doing what he loves – making late surges into the box from deep to give opposing centre-backs an added threat to contend with.

Man City’s defence is a far cry from what it was last season, as Ajax proved in their most recent run out. This can most likely be attributed to Roberto Mancini’s inexplicable decision to incorporate a back-three system which his players are struggling to adapt to.

At the other end of the pitch, they could easily slam four or five past Michel Vorm yet, as West Brom, QPR, Fulham and Southampton have all recently proved, even the lesser sides in the Premier League know there are goals to be had against City, who have kept just one clean sheet all season.
