League Two accumulator: Port Vale to stay in touch at top

Published:

League Two is already developing into a two-team race at the top and Port Vale can continue their pursuit of Gillingham as they head to Burton.

A Port Vale victory is part of our four-team League Two accumulator at 19/1 alongside home successes for Cheltenham, Rochdale and Southend.

Port Vale have won their last five home fixtures and this run includes triumphs over fellow top-seven members Fleetwood, Bradford and Exeter.

Therefore, they should hold no fears travelling to another in Burton, who have lost their only two matches so far against teams positioned above them in the current League Two standings.

Port Vale are favourites at 11/8 to claim the away win.

Southend are our most confident selections at 8/11 to take maximum points at home to free-falling Aldershot.

Six straight defeats have caused Aldershot to slip to second bottom, while they have already conceded four goals on three separate occasions on the road this term.

Southend are largely inconsistent and failed to beat bottom side Barnet in their home outing, but they should have too much for Aldershot.

Oxford are among the worst travellers in the division, suffering five straight away defeats, which makes Rochdale more than decent value at 13/10 to prevail at Spotland.

Rochdale have lost their last two, but did concede two penalties in the latest at Plymouth and a victory here will almost certainly see them move back into the play-off places.

Finally, Plymouth have hit a spate of form with back-to-back victories and seven goals scored, but they have not played away yet against opposition positioned in the top-nine of the standings.

Cheltenham are flying high in fourth and have been dominant against clubs towards the foot of the table, which makes 1/1 a decent price on another triumph.
