League One accumulator: Title challengers are home bankers

Published:

With much international football to be played this weekend, punters can turn their attention to the lower leagues in search of domestic football betting opportunities.

And we believe we have selected four League One winners to turn a profit at almost 10/1.

Our first pick are league leaders Tranmere, who offer value at 8/13 at home to Yeovil, whose leaky defence has contributed to them tailing off somewhat after an impressive start.

Rovers, in contrast, have conceded just twice on their own patch this term, and after four wins from five home games so far, they should add another Prenton Park success here.

We turn to Sheffield United for our next selection, hoping for the Blades to extend their unbeaten run by overcoming Oldham at 8/13.

Danny Wilson’s men have drawn more games than they have won at this stage, but should be expected to step up their efforts on their own turf at Bramall Lane.

They welcome an Oldham side that has won only twice in their last seven outings.

Elsewhere, we look to a side in less sterling form than our aforementioned choices, as we take Bournemouth to beat Leyton Orient at 10/11.

The managerless Cherries won’t get many better chances to end a run of four straight defeats, and propel themselves out of the relegation zone in doing so.

It should be noted that three of those losses came on the road, and Bournemouth will welcome a return to the Goldsands Stadium, where they have lost only once this term.

And we favour Portsmouth to continue their impressive recent form, at a tempting 6/5 to prolong a run of three games without defeat.

Pompey host Crewe at Fratton Park, with the visitors having won just once on the road so far this season, and have victored in only one of their past seven league outings.
