Gary Barlow to finally get a week off on X Factor
Published:Gary Barlow has seen an act in the bottom two in the first three X Factor live shows and as a result he has been unable to judge the sing-off fairly.
However, this is set to change in week four, as Chris Maloney and Kye Sones are expected to remain in the competition without the need to take part in the sing off.
Typically on the X Factor, a late starting spot was deemed an advantage, with voting lines not normally opening until the end of the show.
But the move to open lines before the first singer has resulted in an earlier spot now being beneficial, especially for acts with the smallest fanbases.
Apart from Chris, who has Liverpool voting for him, Gary’s other three acts could not compete with the fanbases of contestants from other categories.
Therefore, an early slot would help to allow maximum voting time.
In hindsight now that a voting pattern is being uncovered, it is no surprise to see that Carolynne Poole and Melanie Masson were in the bottom two after performing late on a live show.
Even though Kye was certainly better than a few acts last week, a spot near the end also caused him to be positioned in the bottom two of the public vote.
He remains in trouble, but it is really uncommon for the same act to be in the bottom two in successive weeks, so he should survive week four.
Acts most regularly in the headlines tend to have decent fanbases and the two most at risk in week four could well prove District3 and Jade Ellis.
With Union J going from strength to strength, District3 will go out soon and had their rebound vote to survive week three after being saved in the week-two sing off.
Jade was also poor in club classics week and unless she makes a substantial improvement, will find herself in jeopardy.
Her only saving grace is that if she is in the bottom two with any of District3, Kye, Chris or Rylan Clark, she is almost certain to be saved.
District3 are 5/1 to be the fourth elimination, with Jade at 7/1.
