Stoke v Man City: Champions to claim long awaited Britannia win

Published:

Stoke tends not to be a happy hunting ground for any side with Premier League title ambitions, but Carlos Tevez can help fire Manchester City to a Britannia victory this season.

Man City’s odds are 8/11 to claim what would be a first success at Stoke in six attempts in all competitions.

The draw would seem the more obvious outcome, as the last three league meetings between the pair have ended 1-1.

Meanwhile, Tony Pulis has watched his side draw their last four home games.

It is 5/2 that Man City are the fifth successive team to leave with only a point, with 13/2 looking tempting for another 1-1 draw.

If Stoke’s eight-game unbeaten home streak is to be ended, then Tevez is likely to be pivotal to proceedings.

Tevez has found the target in all four of Man City’s fixtures so far this season and also has four goals in six Premier League clashes with Stoke.

He is the obvious candidate to open the scoring at 7/2, with 4/5 the fairly short price that Tevez is on target at any time in the game.

Stoke are 4/1 to secure a first victory of the campaign and fans may want to remember Peter Crouch’s screamer from the right edge of the box in this fixture last season.

Crouch is 8/1 to open the scoring again this time.

Another interesting market is which half will see the most goals scored, as there has not been a first-half goal in the last four meetings between the pair at the Britannia.

It is 10/11 that there are more goals in the second half again, which is something that has happened in all of Man City’s first three league games this season.
