Ryder Cup trio responsible for BMW Championship each-way bets
Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods are the favourites for the BMW Championship, but punters are looking for some each-way value and five names are leading their fancies.
Fresh from being named as a US Ryder Cup wildcard by Davis Love, Steve Stricker is one of this group and is 25/1 to triumph at Crooked Stick.
Stricker ranked inside the top ten of the field in a number of departments in the recent Deutsche Bank Championship, including finding the fairway off the tee, hitting greens in regulation and gaining strokes through putting.
A repeat of this consistency will see him go close in the BMW Championship.
Two fellow members of the US team are also impressing punters, with Keegan Bradley another at 25/1 and Webb Simpson at 33/1.
Bradley struggled in the early rounds in the Deutsche Bank, but then roared into contention once his normal caddie returned from a family emergency.
If he brings this form to Indiana, he can shoot the low scores required for victory.
Some non-US players are also being backed, with Padraig Harrington still available at 66/1.
Harrington needs to finish towards the top of the leaderboard to reach the final event of the FedEx Cup series, as he needs to improve into the top 30 from his current spot of 56.
He has finished in the top 20 in seven of his last nine PGA Tour starts and if he can avoid a disaster round that has featured in many of his latest tournaments, Harrington is not without a chance.
Louis Oosthuizen is 20/1 and is drawing in punters for the second tournament running after being the pick of many punters at a bigger price for the Deutsche Bank.
These punters would have been rewarded for each-way bets as he finished second, but there would have been a tinge of disappointment as he was three strokes clear heading into the final day.
This means he has secured consecutive top-five finishes, while perhaps importantly at TPC Boston, he trumped the field in terms of finding greens in regulation.
