Heavy backing shortens Johnson’s prices to be Prime Minister

Boris backers back for more

BORIS JOHNSON has been subject to another country-wide gamble to become Prime Minister according to Ladbrokes.

After a recent YouGov poll showed that the London Mayor is respected by 58 per cent of voters, punters once again got stuck into his odds of becoming an MP before the next General Election at 2/1 (from 5/1) and to become the Prime Minster before 2050 (3/1).

Boris currently finds himself as the 12/1 third favourite to succeed David Cameron, however, standing in his way is Ed Milliband at even money and Yvette Cooper at 10/1.

He’s also the clear 4/1 favourite to take over as the Tory party leader.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The recent YouGov poll has only strengthened his position with punters for a return to Parliament. His popularity increases every time he’s mentioned in the media and that’s reflected in his odds.”
