Girls Aloud star the one to watch on Strictly Come Dancing
Kimberley Walsh is one of the first celebrities confirmed for the tenth series of Strictly Come Dancing and 6/1 looks an early big price that she will triumph.
The Girls Aloud singer has the advantage of starting with a hefty fanbase, which is almost certain to be bigger than at least 90 per cent of the other celebrities taking part.
Meanwhile, the fact that Girls Aloud have been going for over a decade suggests that she will have partaken in numerous dance routines over the years.
Therefore, even if she has no formal dance training, she will be better equipped to deal with the workloads than other contestants and should at worst have some kind of grounding.
Furthermore, she is arguably the least known of the band and the chance to break away from the group for Strictly should allow her to show some of her personality.
The early Strictly Come Dancing betting has Denise Van Outen as the 2/1 favourite, the shortest price ever before the start of a series, and she certainly comes from a dancing background.
She has a stage-school background and has taken part in numerous musicals, alongside releasing her own dance DVD.
However, whether her personality is particularly likeable among the masses remains to be seen.
Louis Smith is 4/1 for victory and his Olympic success is almost guaranteed to make him a hit with voters.
Matt Baker also hailed from a gymnastics background when competing in series eight and this stood him in good stead to eventually finish second.
With the show also being based around entertainment, some of the less-able dancers can appeal to voters with Ann Widdecombe and John Sergeant previous examples of this.
Former Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley could prove the dancer to fit this trend this year and she is 20/1 to win Strictly Come Dancing.
