Everton to be ahead at the hour mark good bet in Swans clash

Published:

Everton were one of the few teams who Swansea got no change out of last season. They suffered consecutive defeats to the Merseysiders without mustering a goal.

The Swans are 6/4 to extract some revenge from their upcoming contest and take all three points, with Ladbrokes also offering some prices in the goal markets to get punters’ juices flowing.

For David Moyes’ charges to repeat last season’s efforts at the Liberty Stadium and win the game without conceding, a price of 11/4 is available, as opposed to the 11/8 on offer for an Everton win by any scoreline.

If the trends of the previous campaign do resurface in this meeting, a price of 1/1 for one or neither side to find the back of the net is also worth a bet.

This has been the outcome in three of the four games Swansea have played, as well as two of Everton’s four. When weighed up against last season’s meetings, this should provide sound logic to lump on it happening again here.

Up until their 2-0 defeat at the hands of a resurgent Aston Villa team last time out, Swansea had been on target in both halves in each of their games across two competitions.

They’re priced at 10/3 to make it five from six against the Toffees, but the fact that Everton have yet to allow a team to bag a goal either side of half time this campaign detracts value from this bet.

A further enticing prospect is Everton to be winning on the hour mark.

This is chalked up at 7/4 with Ladbrokes and it’s a point of the game that Michael Laudrup’s men have been behind at in successive games following their loss at Villa. Furthermore, Everton were ahead at this stage on the way to both their wins over the Swans last season.
