Coventry vs Stevenage: Boro to capitalise against winless hosts

| 08.09.2012

Coventry host Stevenage in a televised clash on Sunday, in what will be the first ever league meeting between the sides.

Home side Coventry are currently in disarray, managerless and winless this term, and as such may be worth avoiding at 5/4 for all three points at the Ricoh Arena.

They have drawn three of their four games this season however, including both matches on their own turf, and so some punters will take interest in the 11/5 about a stalemate.

But the form of their visitors will encourage many to get behind the travelling outfit in this tie, with Stevenage unbeaten in their opening four League One matches this season.

The Boro have won both of their away games so far, and will be popular to make it three wins from three considering the contrasting early season fortunes of each club.

And an away victory by the narrowest of margins could be worth investing in, bearing in mind Stevenage’s two 1-0 triumphs so far during this campaign.

1-0 was the scoreline Stevenage most frequently won by last season too, and so that outcome is an appealing prospect at 8/1.

Meanwhile, Coventry most regularly lost by that same scoreline in home games last term, and another tempting option is to back a Stevenage clean sheet at 5/2.

The away side have yet to be breached on the road, and are 4/1 to win without conceding as they have in each of their two previous games on their travels.

That said though, in Coventry, the Boro face a team with an in-form striker eager to add to a tally of three goals for the season in all competitions.

Cody McDonald is the player, and he is afforded 5/1 favouritism to open the scoring on Sunday.

Lucas Akins could prove a profitable punt for the visitors meanwhile, as a tempting 15/2 shot to break the deadlock with his third strike of the season.
