New Watford regime sees them front Championship selections

Published:

Saturday saw the Championship re-open in highly entertaining fashion, and we believe we have picked out four Tuesday night results to reward punters at over 28/1.

Watford are the first of our picks, with new manager Gianfranco Zola favoured to claim a victory in his first home game in charge of the Hornets.

At 6/5, Zola’s new-look side meet an Ipswich outfit that needed an own goal to snatch a draw at home to Blackburn at the weekend.

The Vicarage Road outfit will be brimming with confidence after a 3-2 win at Crystal Palace meanwhile, and have won their last five matches against the Tractor Boys.

Elsewhere, newly-promoted Huddersfield can kick-start their campaign after an unlucky opening day defeat away to a fancied Cardiff side on Friday.

The Terriers compete at home for the first time as a Championship outfit, and look value at 6/4 to overcome a transitional Nottingham Forest outfit.

Forest collected just four points from six outings against promoted teams last term.

Molineux is the venue for our third prospective home win selection meanwhile, as 8/13 Wolves welcome Barnsley in the hope of avenging an opening-day loss away to Leeds.

Stale Solbakken will hope to endear himself to the home crowd, and can do so by registering a seventh consecutive home win over the Tykes.

With the visitors mustering only 18 league goals on their travels last season, defeat appears likely against a side that topped the goal charts in their last Championship campaign.

Away from that game, a draw is our final pick of Tuesday’s ties as Bristol City welcome Crystal Palace to Ashton Gate.

It is 23/10 about the stalemate between these two, who both struggled over the course of last season, and recorded a massive 30 draws between them.

The fact that six of City’s draws came at home, and the same amount of Palace’s came on the road further enhances the idea that the draw should be backed this week.
