Celtic odds to win every SPL game this season slashed

Even the most optimistic punter will struggle to oppose Celtic in the Scottish Premier League this season and instead the money is coming for the reigning champions to win all 38 league games this campaign en route to another title.

With Rangers expelled to Division Three as a result of being forced into liquidation, challengers look thin on the ground for Celtic this season and odds of 1/33 on them winning the SPL only reinforce this further.

Instead, punters are looking at alternatives and the one that is being nibbled at currently is that Celtic retain a 100 per cent winning record all season.

This started off at 100/1, but steady money has seen this price cut to 66/1.

Celtic won 30 of their 38 games last season and between November and February went on an emphatic run of 17 successive victories.

Another market where some value may be found in the SPL is how far ahead of second place Celtic will finish.

They trumped Rangers by 20 points last season, although the runners up were deducted ten points because of their financial issues, while their margin over third-placed Motherwell was 31 points.

It is 11/10 that Celtic take the title by a margin between 31 and 40 points this season and 7/4 that they hold an advantage of between 21 and 30 points over the runners up.

Preference is for the latter of these though as Rangers’ absence is more likely to result in extra points for the final runner up, whereas Celtic will not see their overall tally change dramatically.

Celtic kick off the SPL this weekend at home to Aberdeen and punters will be hoping that their bet does not fall at the first hurdle.

It is 1/5 in the SPL odds that Celtic beat Aberdeen.
