Fulham v Norwich: Petric to make an instant impact in home win

Published:

Fulham have won eight of their last ten meetings with Norwich in all competitions and new recruit Mladen Petric can ensure this strong record continues.

There is nothing like scoring on a home debut to make a positive impression on new supporters and Petric is 11/2 to break the deadlock against Norwich.

Since signing on a free transfer, Petric has made it a knack to find the target in pre-season friendlies, scoring twice against Kaiserslautern to add to further strikes against Lokomotiv Leipzig and Nice.

With Fulham arguably short of a striker following the summer departures of Pavel Pogrebnyak and Andy Johnson, Petric looks a certain starter against Norwich and may even be partnered in attack by fellow new-boy Hugo Rodallega.

It is 4/5 that Fulham beat Norwich and under Martin Jol they ended last season with a fine record on their own patch, winning seven of their last ten games at Craven Cottage.

One of these victories was also a 2-1 triumph over Norwich and a repeat of this success can be backed at 15/2.

However, Norwich have not found goals easy to come by in their pre-season friendlies under Chris Hughton, failing to trouble the scorers in their last two games against League One promotion favourites MK Dons and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Fulham are 7/4 to shut out Norwich too.

Meanwhile, there may be some joy in backing the goalless draw at 10/1, given this has been the result for Fulham on the opening day of the last two seasons.

In fact, Fulham have only won once on the opening day in eight seasons and this slow-starting nature may give Norwich a chance.

Norwich are 7/2 to collect a valuable away win at Fulham, with the draw on offer at 5/2.
