Rooney to spend the summer on the racecourse after first winner

| 05.07.2012

WAYNE ROONEY has now caught the racing bug, according to Ladbrokes.

Rooney got the winning feeling for the first time on the racecourse as the horse he part owns (with John O’Shea and the Ontoawinner syndicate) Yourartisonfire justified 7/4 favouritism at Haydock.

The bookies now quote him at odds-on (1/2) to be spotted at a race meeting before the start of the Premier League season.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We think this could be the start of something for Rooney. It’s odds-on he swaps gruelling pre-season training for a day out at the races.”
