Old Firm bank pays eight per cent interest on season-long investment
Published:BOTH OLD Firm members are the biggest certainties to win their respective divisions in football betting history, according to Ladbrokes.
The bookies have never offered odds as short as the 1/20 chalked up about Rangers Newco winning the Scottish Third Division or the even shorter 1/33 about Celtic taking the SPL.
Those odds haven’t acted as a deterrent yet however, with the double paying 1/12, or offering an eight per cent return on a season-long investment.
Rangers are also just 1/16 to secure successive promotions to the SPL.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve never known odds as short as this in football. If either fail to win their divisions next season there will be an uproar.”
He added: “Given the current state of the banks many view the Old Firm as a safer investment.”
