KO refunds spice up betting for respective Khan and Haye fights

Published:

This weekend is potentially a big one for British boxing and Ladbrokes have made the betting interesting for the respective fights of Amir Khan and David Haye by offering potential refunds.

It is title v title in Las Vegas, with three light-welterweight belts on the line in total as Khan steps into the ring with Danny Garcia.

Khan is the 1/5 favourite to triumph in the boxing odds, but there remain doubts as to whether his chin can stand the big punches, despite going 12 rounds with recognised bomb thrower Marcos Maidana.

However, his defeat inside a minute to Breidis Prescott in 2008 still lingers in the memory and if he is knocked out again by Garcia, punters could be in for a refund in the form of a free bet.

Ladbrokes will be refunding all losing round bets if Khan is stopped in the 12 rounds and Garcia is unbeaten all 23 career fights.

The worry is that his last three have gone to the scorecards of the judges, although he did triumph in his four bouts prior to this inside the distance.

Furthermore, insults from Garcia’s father have done a good job of riling up Khan and this frustration could leave him more open for a knock down.

While Khan is in Las Vegas, Haye will have to settle for the east end of London for his grudge match with Dereck Chisora.

The same refund offer is in existence for this heavyweight battle, with all losing round bets being refunded if Haye is stopped by Chisora.

Haye has been knocked down by cruiserweights in the past and so there has to be doubts as whether he will remain standing if caught by one of Chisora’s best shots.

It is 1/3 that Haye prevails in the ten-round battle, with the winner reportedly at the front of the queue for a world title fight with one of the Klitschko brothers.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
