Arsenal favourites to sign Real Madrid midfielder on loan

According to reports throughout the Spanish press, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with a top Premier League club for the release of Nuri Sahin on loan for one season.

Although nothing has been confirmed by either club at the time of writing, most reports suggest that it is Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal that have secured the services of the Turkish midfielder after Tottenham refused to include the player in their current negotiations with Madrid over Luka Modric.

Sahin has not yet found himself a place in the Real Madrid starting 11 and Jose Mourinho believes the best solution is for him to gain one more year’s experience at a major club before returning to Madrid to fight for a place.

The probability of the loan deal is backed up by the fact that Sahin will not be travelling with the Real Madrid squad to Portugal for a pre-season friendly with Benfica.
