Sweden v France: Blanc’s men can render Swedes pointless

After surrendering leads in each of their two opening Euro 2012 matches, Sweden seem to have their work cut out in justifying 9/2 odds to beat France on Tuesday night.

By contrast, the French have come from behind to draw one of their games, before beating Ukraine on Friday, and look appealing prospects to win again at 8/13 on Tuesday.

It is 11/4 about the draw meanwhile, and considering France haven’t lost in 23 matches heading into this one, that looks the best result Sweden can hope for.

However, as aforementioned, the already-eliminated Swedes have taken the lead at some point in both of their group matches in Poland and Ukraine, whilst France have fallen behind once.

For that reason, some interest could be taken in the massive 22/1 odds about Sweden leading at half-time, before France go on to win.

That said, Laurent Blanc’s men will be hopeful of obtaining an emphatic victory, as they look to cement their place atop Group D, and avoid a potential clash with Spain in the quarter-final.

With that taken into account, in addition to the French scoring 14 goals in their last six outings, Blanc’s charges look worthy of investment at 13/8 to win a game featuring three or more goals.

Also, those confident in a comfortable French triumph will be encouraged by the fact that they have kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches, and are 11/8 to not concede, and 2/1 to win to nil on Tuesday.

In terms of goal supply, somewhat surprising sources have prevailed for France thus far, with midfielders hitting the net in each of their two opening outings.

Karim Benzema could come good sooner rather than later though, and the Real Madrid striker is 6/4 in a France win, and can also be backed at 4/1 to get Tuesday’s opener.
