Kagawa fancied to get amongst the goals in debut Man United term

Borussia Dortmund star Kagawa is set to join Manchester United in a deal potentially worth £17million, and the all-action midfielder’s sharp attacking instincts were undoubtedly a factor in Ferguson’s desire to land the player.
Kagawa cost little more than £250,000 when joining Dortmund two years ago, but after averaging almost a goal every two games from midfield since then, his value has rocketed.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a rise to international prominence too, and has racked up an impressive ten goals in 31 Japanese outings to date.
Able to play all across the midfield, and in an advanced position just off a striker, Kagawa seems more appealing at 5/6 to score over 10.5 league goals in his debut English campaign, rather than the same price to fail to reach that total.
Other markets are also available on United’s latest acquisition, and punters can back him to become an instant Old Trafford hero by finding the net against local rivals Manchester City.
The signing of Kagawa is Ferguson’s first roll of the dice in his attempts to regain domestic dominance over the Premier League champions, and the midfielder is odds-on at 10/11 to score in one of the two league encounters between the sides next season.
Meanwhile, those who feel Kagawa will truly set the Premier League alight during his maiden season in England, can bet on him being named PFA Player of the Year, which is a 25/1 chance.
Whilst he appears to have all the attributes to become a star at Old Trafford, that may be asking too much for a foreign star making his debut at a club as huge as Manchester United.
The 5/6 odds about goalscoring midfielder Kagawa hitting over 10.5 goals next season do look well worth taking on however.
