Bo to keep our streak going with victory on The Voice

Published:

We have been pretty good with our tips for the first series of The Voice to date and believe that favourite Bo Bruce can prove the market right by claiming success in the final at 5/4.

Back ahead of the first live shows, we identified that Vince Kidd would be the final act from the team of Jessie J, while Bo was a decent each-way bet but was coming from the strongest team where it was not so straight-forward to single out who Danny O’Donoghue’s final contestant would be.

At bigger prices we also identified Leanne Mitchell as one to watch, although we were as surprised as anyone when she won her head-to-head with Ruth Brown last week.

Furthermore, although we did not pick Tyler James to begin with, we did select him to get the better of favourite Jaz Ellington in the semi finals to be the final act of will.i.am.

The final looks wide open and there are certainly cases to be made on all four acts winning.

Leanne is the rank outsider at 5/1, but clearly has a decent fanbase given she collected more votes than Ruth.

She also has no direct competition for votes and the fact that Tom Jones is her mentor may send further votes in her direction.

Meanwhile, the fact that she is singing ‘It’s A Man’s World’ by James Brown may be a bit predictable, but still has the possibility to be a show stealer.

The problem for Vince and Tyler is that they may be competing over the same audience, which will obviously lower their vote count.

Both are fairly quirky and do not appear to have songs to triumph.

‘Many Rivers To Cross’ is unlikely to give Vince enough votes, while Tyler’s version of Michael Jackson’s ‘I’ll Be There’ may be even worse.

‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ is the perfect song choice for Bo and can help her secure votes, while her voice arguably makes her more mainstream than the other acts.
