5:00 Royal Ascot: Graphic Guest to clean up fillies sprint

Published:

Two-year-old contests are usually tough to sort out because of the lack of experience of many of the runners and the Queen Anne Stakes looks no different at Royal Ascot.

Six of the fillies taking part are still unbeaten, while numerous others have only had the one run and are entitled to make a marked improvement now they have experience of the racecourse.

Therefore, with the race tough to call, it may pay to side with Graphic Guest at 8/1, as she is the only course and distance winner in the field and this advantage could be what separates her from the rest.

Graphic Guest has done little wrong on her last two starts, firstly when gaining her Ascot success and then when tracking a quick pace to win at Windsor.

The fact that these victories have both been over small fields is a slight worry, but given her hold-up nature, she may actually benefit from more runners as it should guarantee a quicker early pace.

Given that most of the runners are still acclimatising to the racing game in any case, there are bound to be a few that are headstrong in the early stages and difficult to pull back.

Mironica seemed to win with a bit in hand on debut after travelling strongly into her race and the fourth Lottie Dod has run well again since.

Sharaarah warrants respect coming from a powerful stable and she has the potential to make a mockery of her Royal Ascot odds of 20/1.

Jadanna is another to consider at 12/1 having won last time after overcoming a setback, while although still waiting for a first success, Jillnextdoor was only beaten by a head by Hototo on her latest start, who triumphed again at Royal Ascot yesterday, and should enter calculations at 12/1.
