Swansea could feel wrath of scolded Man United on Sunday

An Eastlands defeat on Monday night saw the momentum shift from Manchester United in the Premier League title race, and 1/7 victory over Swansea is essential this weekend.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are level on points with local rivals Manchester City, but eight worse off than their neighbours on goal difference, the title is out of their hands.

City travel to Newcastle prior to United’s kick-off on Sunday, though regardless of their result, Ferguson will not allow another slip up from his men.

Sky pundit Gary Neville revealed on Monday that one of Ferguson’s greatest fears was missing out on Premier League glory via goal difference, so will likely set his team up targeting an emphatic success.

United only beat Swansea by a single goal in the return fixture earlier this season, but have notched four times in their past two Old Trafford outings, and will hope for more of the same in this clash.

The Red Devils have averaged close to three strikes per home game this season too, making them look good for a convincing win over a Swansea side poor on the road.

A different side will likely be selected to that which lined up at Eastlands, with a greater emphasis on attack probable.

Assist merchant Antonia Valencia could cause limitless problems out wide if restored, whilst the finishing instincts the likes of a Javier Hernandez could provide would give United a greater chance of narrowing the goal difference gap with City.

Those who believe that United could uncharacteristically crumble with two games to go though, can have 11/1 odds regarding a Swansea triumph.

Their side will feature Gylfi Sigurdsson, rumoured to be a Red Devils target, so obvious dangers are present in the mid-table outfit, but the sheer experience of United should tell.

Another below-par United performance would be intolerable, particularly at Old Trafford, and having won their final home game in four of the past six seasons, they look primed for another victory here.
