Sheffield United v Stevenage: Blades expected to progress

Published:

Sheffield United head into their League One play-off second leg clash with Stevenage in a great position to progress to the final.

The Blades held their rivals to a 0-0 draw in the first leg and are big favourites to take a big step towards Championship football.

However, Stevenage have been in very good form in recent weeks and will be no pushovers…

Match odds

Sheffield United are the big favourites at 10/11 and have been excellent at Bramall Lane this term.

They’ve lost just three times on home soil and are have lost just one of their previous 13 matches in League One.

Stevenage have been very solid recently and haven’t lost in seven. They also boast the second best away defence in the division and are priced at a pretty decent 3/1 to improve on their 2-2 draw at United earlier in the season.

There was nothing to separate the teams last time though and the game to finish level after 90 minute can be backed at 12/5.

Goal markets

Stevenage have kept clean sheets in their last two games but face the best home attack in the division.

United have averaged over 2.5 goals in their games at Bramall Lane this term and backing them to score 2-3 goals may be worth some serious consideration at 11/8.

However, while they’ve been banging them in, they’ve also shipped a fair few and haven’t kept a home clean sheet in eight matches.

With that in mind, there is certainly an argument for backing over 3.5 goals at 5/2.
