Man United to do all in their power to land 20th title at Sunderland

Manchester United realistically must win at Sunderland to have any chance of claiming the league title, and their big game experience will help them do so at 2/5.

United’s local rivals Manchester City are in pole position for a maiden Premier League crown, with a goal difference eight superior to United’s, though they do have the same amount of points.

With that in mind, United know that if they better City’s result on Sunday, they will land a 20th Premier League title, and Ferguson will undoubtedly emphasise the need for victory.

Sunderland meanwhile, have not beaten United in their last 19 attempts in the league, hence a lengthy 13/2 price to win at the Stadium of Light this weekend.

They have achieved five draws in this time though, so some brave punters may be inclined to get behind the stalemate at 5/2.

The Black Cats have struggled in front of goal in recent times against Ferguson’s side also, failing to notch in their past four encounters with the Red Devils, who have won three of those games to nil.

It is 11/8 that the away side win without conceding once again this weekend, and with goal difference in mind, that could be worth taking on.

Punters should keep in mind that United have won their final game of the season for the last four campaigns running, despite already having the title sewn up on two of these occasions.

Their often ruthless nature in big matches, and vast experience in securing titles in the past, will stand them in good stead to get the best result they possibly can on Sunday.

Whilst it appears far-fetched that City will slip up at home to QPR, it looks very reasonable to suggest that United will capitalise if their rivals do take anything less than three points.
