Man City v QPR: City can win to nil again to clinch Premier League

Published:

One of the biggest games in Manchester City’s history awaits on Sunday, as the Citizens aim to land a maiden Premier League title by beating QPR at 1/7.

With a goal difference eight superior to title rivals Manchester United, a draw would be enough if United fail to win at Sunderland, and that is attributed a 6/1 price.

Meanwhile, the visitors are a huge 16/1 to win at Eastlands, and such a result would guarantee the Londoners’ Premier League survival.

It looks difficult to see past a City win however, in light of their superb Eastlands record throughout the season, where they have won 17 of their 18 unbeaten league outings.

City have conceded only ten goals in this time, and look good value at 4/6 to keep a clean sheet, and at 8/11 to win without conceding for the fourth game in succession.

In addition to a sturdy backline, City have demonstrated blistering credentials in front of goal this term too, particularly at home, where they average only slightly less than three goals per game.

Their most frequently occurring Eastlands scoreline has been 3-0, which they have won by on five occasions during the campaign, and they are a 6/1 chance to make it six this weekend.

Alternatively, punters may choose to get behind City racking up two or three goals in the match at 5/4, whilst those who fancy a more emphatic home performance can get 6/5 about the home side notching four or more times.

Roberto Mancini could aim to dispel any lingering tension by getting an early goal in the game, so an attacking lineup is expected on Sunday.

29-goal top scorer Sergio Aguero is 5/2 favourite to open the scoring, whilst his compatriot Carlos Tevez is slightly bigger as an 11/4 shot.

It was Yaya Toure who made the difference last week at Newcastle though, and the powerful Ivorian is 5/1 to again demonstrate his penchant for an important goal with Sunday’s opener.
