Man City plan summer swoop for Llorente as Toure rumours grow

Manchester City may have been looking forward to a summer of being able to promise potential new signings silverware as well as huge wages – but first they have a battle to keep one of their star performers from this season.

Yaya Toure’s agent claims the midfielder – who was consistently excellent throughout City’s Premier League campaign – is looking for new challenges after winning the league with the Citizens.

Speaking to the Sun, Dimitri Seluk said: “He has done all he can do at City and he needs new motivations.

“Toure could sign for many big clubs like Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Also, we would like to see Barca join the race.”

“I have not spoken to Barca but they know the situation.

“I do not know if Madrid are interested but Jose Mourinho has liked him since he was at Chelsea.”

It sounds very much like an agent trying to get a few extra quid out of the richest club in the world but, if he is serious, then City could find their priorities change this summer.

As it stands, it appears that Roberto Mancini’s main aim is to get another forward in to bolster his already vast attacking options.

In Spain, AS and Marca are reporting that Athletic Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente is high on Mancini’s wanted list as he looks to shuffle his playing staff, with Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko the most likely City players to be on their way out.

City are currently the 11/8 favourites to win the Premier League next season, with this year’s runners up, Manchester United, out at 9/4 to win their 20th league title.
