Man City, Liverpool and Spurs to battle over Champions League star

A bust-up with Franck Ribery has left Arjen Robben considering his Bayern Munich future, alerting a host of Premier League clubs wishing to bring him back to England.

The former Chelsea man has fulfilled his undoubted potential in his three years in Germany, becoming one of the world’s most feared wingers as his side have made two Champions League finals in that time.

Now 28, he is ready to snub a new deal from his Bavarian employers amidst a disagreement with team-mate Ribery, whom he openly argued with during a European clash at Santiago Bernabeu two weeks ago.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham have taken a serious interest in the Dutchman in light of this, and may be able to snap the wideman up at a knockdown fee as he approaches the final year of his contract.

City are hoping to add natural width to a side featuring a vast array of attacking talents, and hefty wage demands would be little problem to the title challengers.
Liverpool meanwhile, are on a European scouting mission ahead of a big summer rebuilding job, and whilst Robben is older than their typical targets, he would inject some much-needed flair into the blunt Anfield outfit.

The other club attracted to Robben is Tottenham, and boss Harry Redknapp may see the winger as the ideal replacement for Gareth Bale should he make a mooted switch to Barcelona this summer.

In fact, outgoings at each of the interested clubs could determine where Robben ends up playing his football next term, though his tenure at Bayern would appear to be all but over.

The ex-Real Madrid man was appalled that his club didn’t back him in the aftermath of the Ribery row, and Bayern president Uli Holness confirmed, ” All I know is that he was just about to put pen to paper, and now that has all been postponed.”
