Liverpool v Fulham: Reds eye sixth home win of the season

Published:

Two sides with little to play for clash on Tuesday night, with Liverpool 4/7 chances to beat Fulham at Anfield.

Kenny Dalglish’s men are already assured of Europa League qualification through their Carling Cup success, and Fulham look unlikely to claim a spot in the same competition, but are 4/1 to get the three points that would take them a step closer.

It is 5/2 about the draw meanwhile, which is the best result Fulham have ever achieved away to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Fulham have notoriously struggled for goals when competing against the Reds in Merseyside, last scoring at Anfield six years ago, so Liverpool look good to keep a clean sheet again at 5/4.

Re-invigorated by a 3-0 success away to Norwich last week too, the Reds will be determined to carry momentum into the FA Cup final this coming weekend, and are also appealing 7/4 shots to win without conceding.

Anfield has not been a setting of the most aesthetically pleasing football throughout this season, as a bluntness in front of goal has hampered Liverpool’s league campaign somewhat drastically.

The Reds average only very slightly over a goal per game at home, and could be on the right end of a low scoreline here, drawing attention to the 11/4 price for them to win a match featuring two or less goals.

Alternatively, punters can take the 7/2 odds on 0-1 goals being scored in the match, or a bigger 6/1 for the hosts to avenge their 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage earlier this term by victoring by the same margin.

Luis Suarez comes into the game as 7/2 favourite to open the scoring, in the midst of his sensational Carrow Road hat-trick at the weekend.

Fringe player Maxi Rodriguez will be eager to win a Wembley starting berth though, and is 9/1 to break the deadlock for what would be a fourth goal in his last three games against Fulham.
