Liverpool eye reputable European replacements for outgoing Kuyt

Dirk Kuyt’s six-year spell at Liverpool looks set to end this summer, with the more sporadic nature of his appearances this season indicating he is ready to move on.

Although a return to former club Feyenoord was initially mooted, German outfit Hamburg are now believed to have a serious interest in the forward, and would pay around £3million to secure his services.

Liverpool, in turn, have begun the search for possible replacements for the Dutchman, with Juventus winger Milos Krasic believed to be Kenny Dalglish’s chief target.

Krasic has fallen way down the Juve pecking order this term, making just seven Serie A appearances under Antonio Conte, and is now willing to make the switch to England.

The Serbian wideman was strongly linked with a loan move to Tottenham in January, though Krasic’s insistence on a permanent deal eventually scuppered the transfer.

After growing increasingly frustrated in the second half of the season though, Krasic is ready to listen to any forthcoming offers, with many clubs interested in a permanent deal for the midfielder.

Fenerbahce are amongst these, reportedly offering £10million for the 27-year-old, though his reluctance to move to Turkey could put Liverpool in the driving seat for his signature, should they match that bid.

If Dalglish fails to win the race for Krasic however, he may instead turn his attentions to Real Madrid midfielder Hamit Altintop, who would be available for just £2million.

The Turkish utility man has made just five appearances for the Bernabeu outfit since a move from Bayern Munich last year, and his versatility makes him an appealing prospect to Reds boss Dalglish.

Altintop is ready to quit the Spanish champions in pursuit of more regular first-team action, so would likely welcome the interest of Liverpool, and a move to Anfield appears a real possibility this summer.
