Inter v AC Milan: Rossoneri must win to keep title hopes alive

Published:

The Derby della Madonnina is one of Europe’s most infamous clashes, but this tie holds greater importance than pride to AC, who are 11/10 to taste victory.

The Rossoneri need a win to keep the pressure on unbeaten Juve who are looking for their first title since 2003 and sit just a point ahead as Serie A enters the final two matches of the season.

If they are to win the Scudetto then Massimiliano Allegri’s men must score victories in their last two games, both of which are to be held at the San Siro where they have only lost once since February.

Their fellow city dwellers have had a disappointing season and find themselves sat sixth with no real hope of achieving Champions League football next season after defeat last time out at Parma.

However, the Nerazzurri are 11/5 to claim a win over their rivals and have already beaten their opponents earlier in the season when they claimed an 1-0 victory back in January, plus they are undefeated at the San Siro in their last six.

The draw is available at 12/5 but you have to go back to 2004 for the last share of the spoils between these two and that looks unlikely here.

It is hard to look past the imperious Zlatan Ibrahimovic when considering the first goalscorer for Milan. The Swede has found the target 26 times in only 30 league appearances this term and he is 4/1 to start the scoring here.

Inter’s Wesley Sneijder has three in his last three outings and he will be eager to crush AC’s title hopes, the Dutchman is temptingly priced at 10/1 to net first.

This fixture is usually a tight affair and 2-1 has been the scoreline five times over the last six seasons between these two, a 2-1 Inter victory is 9/1, while a 2-1 Milan success is an option at 8/1
